Animal ID: B141031-CO2Asa (male)

Bombay Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Asa is a Bombay mix kitten who was born August 26 to a pregnant neighborhood stray cat who had been taken in by a kind lady. He has a soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes. He is lithe and agile despite his deceptively heavy, muscular body. Asa is inquisitive and likes to check everything out - especially open closet doors. Typical to Bombay mixes, who are often called Velcro kitties, Asa is an extremely affectionate lap kitty who likes to snuggle. He is one of the first of his siblings to crawl up on his foster mom's chest to stick his face in hers so she is sure to ... (Read More)hear his loud purring, which sounds like a perking coffee pot. He also likes to play hairdresser and arrange his foster mom's hair with his claws from his perch on the back of the sofa. Asa, whose name means 'physician, cure,' is sure to cure any broken hearts by his loving, attentive personality. However, Asa is no couch potato. He loves rough and tumble play with his sisters, Ava and Araceli. His favorite activity is chasing a laser beam with as much gusto as he can muster. He scampers across the room, slides to a halt like a baseball player's sliding onto home base, and often crashes into the closet door because he cannot stop fast enough. No worries for him! Who could resist this miniature black panther with the copper-penny eyes (or his twin sister Ava, for that matter)? Animal Planet 'Cats 101' segment did a 2 1/2 minute special on Bombays which has created a demand for short-haired glossy black rescue cats like Asa who display the purebred Bombay's looks and personality. The Bombay is a mix of a Burmese and a black American Shorthair Cat. Just Google 'Animal Planet Cats 101 Bombay' to see the YouTube video for yourself. Asa is neutered, fully vaccinated, negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, de-wormed, free of fleas, microchipped, and ready for his indoor-only home. No declawing allowed and no adoptions outside metro Houston. His adoption fee is $125. (Less)

Bombay Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet, adorable Ava is a Bombay mix kitten who was born August 26 to a pregnant neighborhood stray cat who had been taken in by a kind lady. Ava has a soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes set in her delicate round head. She is lithe and agile despite her deceptively heavy, muscular body. Typical to Bombay mixes, which are often called Velcro kitties, Ava is an extremely affectionate lap kitty and likes to crawl up into her foster mom's lap to snuggle. She loves to chase the laser beam but remains a dainty lady as she scampers across the floor. Rescue Me ID: 14-12-08-00537Cpt. 'Jack' Sparrow (male)

Bombay Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Captain Jack Sparrow, 'Jack' is a handsome 'pirate' cat. He, like most pirates, is full of lots of energy. I rescued him from the SPACA when he was a kitten, 10 years ago. He is not your 'normal' run and hide cat. He will follow you from room to room and is often vocal. He loves attention and would be ok sitting in your lap at all times. He weights 17 pounds and still has and sometime uses his claws. My wife and I are expecting a baby in April and we don't think he will do well with a little one. He is often jealous but will get along with a larger friendly dog. We have a chihuahua that he likes to chase around, but is frowned upon in our ... (Read More)house. He acts and looks more like a medium sized dog. A few months ago, I tried my best to make him an outdoor cat so I wouldn't have to lose my buddy, but although he loves going in and out he is not an outdoor cat. He would do best in a home and not locked up in an apartment. He does best eating on an automatic feeder 3 times a day, otherwise he will wake you up and remind you he's hungry. All in all he is a sweet boy who needs more attention. Please contact me with any more questions you may have. (Less)

Bombay    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baby Girl is a Bombay. She is a real sweetheart. She would really like a quiet home. She is a low key girl who likes to relax and cuddle. AGC cats are vet checked, FIV/Leuk tested, flea treated, dewormed, RV, have appropriate vaccinations and will be S/N before adoption. Make sure that you and your family are prepared to make a serious, lifetime commitment to the cat you choose and this commitment may last 15 years or more!
