Animal ID: MMColonel Panther (male)

Bombay Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Howdy! My name is Colonel Panther! I was named Colonel because KFC fried chicken was used to convince me to be rescued! I am a handsome black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in May 2017. My visual assets are a shiny and sleek black patent-leather coat (except for a white 'sweet spot' on my tummy) and big round copper-penny eyes. I'm very sweet and love to cuddle, which makes sense since Bombay mixes are often called Velcro kitties because we are so sociable and like people so much. Although I haven't been around kids or dogs in my foster home, I get along great with the other foster kitties. I am particularly bonded to Tao, who was ... (Read More)rescued with me and who may be my daddy! Life hasn't always been a bowl of cherries for me because somehow I became a homeless stray. A Good Samaritan started feeding my mama Zavalla, Tao, and me but decided that we were too sweet to remain outside in the elements as well as with all the dangers of cars, dogs, and coyotes. So the Samaritan brought us to our future foster meowmy, and she graciously took us in to safety. Now I've learned how nice it is to be inside and have a soft bed, brimming food and water bowls, as well as toys! As much as I like it here in my foster home, I'm ready for a home of my very own. I would do great in a place with another kitty friend or two! In fact, it would be great if someone wanted to adopt Tao and me as a bonded pair. We are available individually or together, but two is always more fun than one. And we can keep each other entertained while you are at work or on vacation. I hope that my sleek black coat, affectionate nature, and hardscrabble story have piqued your interest. Please arrange to come meet me, and if you pick me, I promise to love you furrrever! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google 'Cats 101 Bombay.' Colonel Panther is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Animal ID: APTina Turner (female)

Bombay Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Well hello there! My name is Tina Turner, and like my namesake, I'm a long, lithe beauty who asks you, 'What's love got to do with it?' I'm a black DSH/ Bombay mix gal who was born in late July 2016 and who says 'Love has EVERYTHING to do with it!' I'm just hoping that you will fall in love with my glamour shots and even more as you read all about me. I have the Bombay mix's sleek, shiny black-patent-leather coat and mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes. Plus my fur is as soft as a bunny's. I have a racehorse's agile physique despite my deceptively heavy, muscular body. I was adopted as a kitten from Buster's Friends but somehow ended up at ... (Read More)a kill shelter. My adopter had not registered my microchip, but fortunately Buster's Friends was contacted as the purchaser of my microchip, and I am now happily situated in my foster home. I admit that I was a little traumatized by the whole shelter experience, and I didn't know what to make of my foster mom's young son because I'd never been around small children before. However, this little guy is a champ because he's been around so many foster cats in his short little life. He actually helped my foster mom to build my trust of little people and to feel more comfortable in my new 'digs.' Canned food is a big motivator for me, and it wasn't long before I started coming out of my shell. Now I like to come up to my foster family and ask for head scratches! Bombays are known for being extremely sociable 'Velcro' kitties, and given time, that will probably be me in my future. For now, however, I think I'd prefer a quiet home with older children or adults only. So make arrangements to meet me today, and I'll give you all the answers as to 'What's love got to do with it?' Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat.     Hello there! My name is Pitch, and I am a handsome black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in October 2016. I've got the Bombay mix's shiny and sleek black patent-leather coat, big round copper-penny eyes, and muscular, lithe body. What's unusual about me is that I've got a white 'pendant' spot on my chest! I get along great with other kitties and small dogs but can be a little timid with people until I get to know you. I was found all alone as a stray orphan kitten, so you can probably understand that I learned to be self-protective while I was fending for myself on the streets at such a young age. Fortunately, Buster's Friends group loves black cats, so my foster mom scooped me up when she saw me in a shelter. We all know what happens to black cats who end up in shelters! Now I'm delighted that my hardscrabble days are behind me and that I've got food and love lavished on me every day in my foster home. I need someone who sees my potential and who will be patient enough to let me trust you. If you can find it in your heart to give me a chance, I would be so grateful! You'll never regret it! I absolutely LOVE that toy Da Bird because it makes me feel like a hunter. I like to be up on high places as well as to sit on window sills, where I am quite content to gaze outside! I can be a little shy at first but quickly become very loving and sociable. I will cuddle in your lap, but I like to do it when I want to. I LOVE canned tuna and won't hesitate to talk to you when I would like some tuna! I seem intuitively to know when you are upset, sick, or just need love, and I am happy to oblige by being an attentive, loving furry companion when you need it the most! Originally I was rescued from a shelter by Buster's Friends. I hit the jackpot when I got adopted with Biscuit in December 2016. We had the best home until our new mom and dad figured out what was making their little girl so sick - severe allergies to us. They literally cried when they realized that their high insurance deductible precluded their being able to afford allergy shots for her. Sadly for all of us, Biscuit and I have to be re-homed. We are awesome kitties and would love to stay together again because we do so well together -- BUT, we do not have to be adopted together. Mostly I would love another kitty around so I can play! I know that black kitties are some of the best kitties around, so I know someone will fall in love me. If that person is you, I know that you will never regret having an affectionate chip of onyx cuddling with you while I operate my purr motor that sounds like a perking coffeepot. Bombay Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Panther is a beautiful Bombay/ black domestic short hair mix male cat who was born in winter of 2013. He is his foster mom's favorite cat (which says something considering the many competitors) because he is so sweet and loving. It's not surprising that Bombay mixes are sometimes called Velcro kitties because they are so sociable and like people so much. Not only is he good with 2-legged creatures but also the 4-legged varieties: he does fine around other cats as well as the older big dog in his foster home. Panther's only caveat is that he is hyper-sensitive to fleas: even one flea bite causes him to scratch and consequently to lose hair. ...
