Bombay Mix    Age: Kitten

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Pitch, and I am a handsome black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in October 2016. I've got the Bombay mix's shiny and sleek black patent-leather coat, big round copper-penny eyes, and muscular, lithe body. What's unusual about me is that I've got a white 'pendant' spot on my chest! I get along great with other kitties and small dogs but can be a little timid with people until I get to know you. I don't hide all of the time like some shy cats, but I definitely need TLC initially to get me to warm up to you. Now that I know that I am safe with my loving foster mom, I get in her lap to watch TV with her! Her patience ... (Read More)has paid big dividends! I was found all alone as a stray orphan kitten, so you can probably understand that I learned to be self-protective while I was fending for myself on the streets at such a young age. Fortunately, Buster's Friends group loves black cats, so my foster mom scooped me up when she saw me in a shelter. We all know what happens to black cats who end up in shelters! Now I'm delighted that my hardscrabble days are behind me and that I've got food and love lavished on me every day in my foster home. I need someone who sees my potential and who will be patient enough to let me trust you. If you can find it in your heart to give me a chance, I would be so grateful! You'll never regret it! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by Googling 'Cats 101 Bombay.' Pitch is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Pitch and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him. To make the process more efficient, download the adoption application at http://www.bustersfriends.org/catadoptionapplication.shtml.     Hunter is a beautifully glossy black Bengal x boy who is just coming up on two years old. Honey and Hunter grew up together in a country home with a horse barn. During the day when the horses were tended to they were allowed to be in the barn and catch mice and do what comes naturally to a kitty. When their human went inside, they went inside. They would be fine as house pets but would enjoy a fenced in yard. They are available as a pair with the $25 off the second kitty Buddy discount.     Hi! My name is Jessie, and I'm a black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in October 2016 and rescued from a feral colony with my brother James when we were kittens. A nice lady decided that we were too little to stay there and fend for ourselves. I am so excited to live inside now with toys, beds, and all the food we could ever want! I am still pretty shy, scared, and not so sure about everything, and James, who's fluffy and gray, is the outgoing one of us. However, I really like it when our foster meowmy pets me as I have slowly been building a rapport with her. She is really hoping that I can find a home together with James. I'd like a ... (Read More)home without kids where someone will be patient with me so that I will realize the world isn't as scary as I think it is. I'd love to meet you so you can see how cute and wonderful I am, so come meet me today! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Boo, and I am a handsome, affectionate Bombay/ black DSH mix fella who was born around Valentine's Day 2015. My birth date was perfect timing because I am a loving sweetheart to the 10th degree. Actually, that's not surprising because Bombay mixes are sometimes called Velcro kitties because they are so sociable and like people so much. I have the Bombay mix's soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes that look right through you and make your heart melt. I have a long, lithe, agile frame despite my deceptively heavy, muscular body. This comes in handy because I ... (Read More)love to play and have fun! I absolutely LOVE that toy Da Bird because it makes me feel like a hunter. I like to be up on high places as well as to sit on window sills, where I am quite content to gaze outside! I can be a little shy at first but quickly become very loving and sociable. I will cuddle in your lap, but I like to do it when I want to. I LOVE canned tuna and won't hesitate to talk to you when I would like some tuna! I seem intuitively to know when you are upset, sick, or just need love, and I am happy to oblige by being an attentive, loving furry companion when you need it the most! Originally I was rescued from a shelter by Buster's Friends. I hit the jackpot when I got adopted with Biscuit in December 2016. We had the best home until our new mom and dad figured out what was making their little girl so sick - severe allergies to us. They literally cried when they realized that their high insurance deductible precluded their being able to afford allergy shots for her. Sadly for all of us, Biscuit and I have to be re-homed. We are awesome kitties and would love to stay together again because we do so well together -- BUT, we do not have to be adopted together. Mostly I would love another kitty around so I can play! I know that black kitties are some of the best kitties around, so I know someone will fall in love me. If that person is you, I know that you will never regret having an affectionate chip of onyx cuddling with you while I operate my purr motor that sounds like a perking coffeepot. My name is Mocha, and I am a beautiful, affectionate, talkative black smoke Bombay/ DSH girl who was born in November 2016. I have the Bombay mix's soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as dreamy round copper-penny eyes. I love snuggling at night while my foster meowmy watches TV, and I find her lap a terrific venue for 'making biscuits.' I admit that I was a little scared and shy when I first arrived at my foster home. It took me a while to settle in and feel safe, but now that I know that I can trust her, I am very sweet and affectionate with my foster meowmy. By the same token, the person who adopts me ... (Read More)needs to give me plenty of TLC and be patient with me until I can trust him/ her. You know, it's amazing the fruits of a little love and the passage of time! After I overcome my initial shyness and trepidation in my quiet new home, it will be worth it when this little lap kitty cuddles with my new adopter. My new human companion will be thrilled when I carry on a feline conversation and make biscuits on his/ her lap! Are you that special someone who will accept the challenge and will understand what potential I have? You will be amazed when the time comes that I show you all of the love that I have to give. Bombay Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Panther is a beautiful Bombay/ black domestic short hair mix male cat who was born in winter of 2013. He is his foster mom's favorite cat (which says something considering the many competitors) because he is so sweet and loving. It's not surprising that Bombay mixes are sometimes called Velcro kitties because they are so sociable and like people so much. Not only is he good with 2-legged creatures but also the 4-legged varieties: he does fine around other cats as well as the older big dog in his foster home. Panther's only caveat is that he is hyper-sensitive to fleas: even one flea bite causes him to scratch and consequently to lose hair. ... (Read More)This is easily remedied by just being very diligent to stay on schedule with his flea preventative. Then, true to his name, he has a soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather. He also has the Bombay mix's mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes that look right through you and make your heart melt. Like Bombay mixes, he has a long, lithe, agile body despite his deceptively heavy, muscular body. Won't you be the one who gives this chip of onyx his lifetime home?
